Lawbringer runeword on an A5 merc is an option for decrep (and it proc's with better odds than Reaper's Toll). Added bonus of aura's knockback and reducing any physical immunity against undead packs. And it gives merc fire damage (in addition to cold). Another option for the Lem . . .

I'm presuming that, while Tornado is technically physical damage, it does not get any boosts from an Act II Might merc? I've always like the idea of an Act V merc for a Sorc, and as such am interested in what other characters could use one as well....
No boost from might (or concentration/fanaticism, although concentrate will help blessed hammer of course) as that only affects attacks. However, you still get the benefit from amplify damage and decrepify because it reduces the enemy's physical resistance.
He has spent the majority of the time from 94 to 95 just doing Gripphon 2 seal runs. After hitting 94 he also did some Mephisto runs, but I get bored of them rather quickly, despite the fact that there are several items from him I could really use: Arachnid's, Shako and Reaper's Toll.
Runs have been very safe so far. I had 2 somewhat hairy moments, 2 times because I didn't notice Infector having the Conviction aura. Luckily for me ShouldBeEasy has enough hitpoints and still some fire resistance after the Conviction penalty, so there still is some time to react in such cases.
When encountering an Experience shrine, I also included the third seal and Diablo in my run, for a change of pace, but other than that runs have been pretty straightforward 2 seal runs: I mainly do Infector and Grand Vizier only, and then boss packs when teleporting to the seals if they are Storm Casters and / or there are a lot of monsters.
Drops haven't been great so far, but then again we are only talking some 5.5 hours to get from 94 to 95 I think, and ShouldBeEasy only has some 185% mf. Here are some pics.
So this is where that last Sur has been hiding, not in LK !!!
Some 30 minutes after the Sur; these are the only two Pul+ runes I found on my way to 95.
Obviously a grailer for ShouldBeEasy, but it would even have been a grailer for my SC account, where I am at -13. I actually think it's even a first ever for me, although I'm not entirely sure about that.
Yeah, yeah, I'm a paladin and all that. But this particular item isn't really useful for me. Still cool to have found it two times already though, since it is quite rare.
I'll try to force myself back to Mephisto again next time I play ShouldBeEasy, since both Shako and Arachnid's would mean quite a good damage boost (also because I would be able to start using that Mara's when I have Arachnid's, enabling me to ditch the +1/10% fcr amulet I'm using now), while Reaper's would add even more safety to the runs.
However, for now I'll try to focus a bit more on that other entrant of mine, Grapelike. He has seen some more progress too.
After last updated, he progressed further through Act 1 and finished Act 2 and Act 3 as well. Then it was back to the Countess hoping for some more good runes, but he had already used up all his luck in that department. He did find another 4os Thresher from the rack, so the merc also got an Insight Thresher. He also gained another two levels, briging him to level 80.
Now Grapelike will be running LK for a while. Ideally I'll find one or even two Lo runes, but I'm not counting on that. I'll be happy if I can get the runes for dual Oath or Oath / Death, as well as two bases. Actually I had been hoping not having to run LK at all, but my Barb is just struggling too hard in Pits and Travincal to make it worthwile. So LK it will be, even if only to get some better charms and jewelry.
The plan is to mainly focus on Grapelike now, since I want him to be ready for the Travincal round of a next iteration of RFL, and he still has a long way to go to get where he needs to be for that. We'll see how long I can stand the LK runs though.
Run #15: I'm getting bored of this already.
Run #25: Yep, very boring indeed, but I really should continue to do this for a while, because of the sheer amount of gems, jewelry, charms, potential bases (the two racks mostly drop the same junk bases, but not always), rares, ... Stuff like this helps too:
You mean with the Paladin? No, I don't have them yet. I do plan to start wearing Infernostrides to increase my FR. But for now I'm sticking to my rares, because they also have mf on top of their resists.
And yes, I should record some runs from time to time. I'll try to think about it.
Btw, LK is trying to trick me into believing it won't take me long to farm everything I need this time:
Decided to enter a trapsin, just for laughs. I like the idea of playing self found. With a sin that seems doable, not sure how many LKs and whatnot I'm going to do, for all those bers needed. Even with 1.13+... For now kicking ass in normal with gemmed gear, going for... NM Mephisto first, after we'll see. Glhf everyone!
I would definitely aim for Hotspur once you are done with MF. It nullifies one seal immediately, one is laughable anyway, which only leaves De Seis to worry about. Since you are doing Gripphon runs, you're sorted for safety If not, stick a Ber in your shako
After a great vacation (hiking in Italy) I just spend some time getting used to Morgana again. She is now level 83 and I managed to get trough Act 2 with only taking the AT waypoint, which is a first for me. Then I continued to LK without taking any other waypoint and found my first HR. Pretty lucky on players 1! I never really did much LK running but actually think that this map is not too bad. Can somebody with more experience please comment on that? Thanks!
Edit: Somehow the screenshot timing was not the best. The rune is a Ohm. CTA is a high priority to me anyway, as I am plaing HC, but not it seems quite realistic. We will see how fast the Mal and Ist will drop.
That map's a lot better than the one my assassin's using. grats on the ohm! I found one myself in the pits and am working on the rest of cta as well. I've never ran LK with anything but a sorc so it's a bit different.
@nepeta welcome to the tourney! I also chose trapper, and it's been a blast so far. Haven't done much mfing since she's been really safe with minimal gear. Have fun on your journey!
@T72on1 - nice Lo drop there! After your recent experiences in LK, I'm glad to see it delivering quickly for Grapelike!
On the pally, I have a slightly different take on the boots. Phaedrus didn't find Hotspur, and he didn't really miss them. I had used them on my twinked hammerdin previously due to write-ups/guides saying to use them, so I had some basis of comparison. Honestly, I found Aldur's very solid (and maybe superior), with more fire resist and +life (which is BO-able) and the damage-to-mana useful for mana burn packs. And the FRW was nice and allowed me to save key strokes on switching to vigor to run to the WP or NPCs in Pandemonium Fortress.
I found Infector to be a threat due to fire resists only when convicted (health potion was maybe needed otherwise with 75% fire resists), and I didn't have overstack enough for +max resists to be relevant when convicted. You're hardcore, so that's obviously different consideration. But I don't think you need to be too worried about Hotspur or other +fire resist options. Anyhow, you may want to give Aldur's boots some consideration. Neksja used Waterwalk and seemed pleased with that choice, so another option to consider.

Certainly it isn't needed as such, but it completely removes any threat, convicted or otherwise. After all, the resist is not difficult to stack. There are certainly other great options as mentioned, but I think that no threat is always better than dealing with a threat, especially in HC
Edit: Another consideration, Fordyl was not untwinked, so the gear (charms in particular) available to me was probably superior.
@T72on1 that rune luck though. Amazing to get that Lo so early on, im just a little envious
My barb has been chugging on safer than before due to some charm upgrades and a pair of aldurs boots but now with even less mf than before so drops have been really scarce.
On the other hand I’ve mostly been doing LK runs so that’s expected anyways.
I’m 1 Sur in on the journey towards enigma so that might take a while yet. On the route to grief though I’m either a Lo (obviously) or an Ohm away due to 2 Gul and 1 vex having dropped this far. Not sure I want to cube that many runes to get just 1 rune out of it, but I guess 1 Lo is better for me than anything those other ones can buy me.
